Customer Support Representative

The Customer Support Representative provides quality customer service through the efficient and timely completion of the ordering process, including order entry and labor billing if assigned. This individual takes customer calls, processes orders, and follows up on requests. This position supports internal and external customers in meeting requirements within the quality system. This role provides ongoing support to customers after the sale is final. Building business relationships with customers is key to the success of this role.
Overview of duties:
- Prepares, submits, and enters quotations for assigned territories.
- Performs order entry for assigned territories and customers; translates and interprets customer orders and documents as necessary; produces acknowledgments of orders and backorders.
- Provides information to customers regarding price, weight, volume of equipment and shipping details.
- Maintains customer database for both systems including initial set up of new customers.
- Interfaces with various departments while monitoring past due orders, initiating returned goods authorization and creating credits.
- Provides departmental support by answering customer calls for assigned area and other areas as needed for appropriate support to customers.
- May utilize the IFS system and serves as liaison within department and other departments with issues that arise.
- May reviews work requests for accuracy, clarity and proper lead times for all orders and labor billings with the originator.
- Communicates sales prospects to customer development and salespersons.
Education, Experience & Training:
Two-year degree/certificate in business administration or related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required
One or more years of prior work-related experience
Proficient communicator, both written and orally in English required
Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office Suite specific to Excel and Word
