Customer Development Representative

The Customer Development Representative promotes and sells existing Martin Engineering products and services and develops potential customer leads through phone contacts.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Makes outgoing calls and prospects for customers. Maintains ongoing contact with established customers.
- Plans and organizes sales activities, including phone sales, sales tracking reports, and lead generation. Coordinates activities with Territory Sales Managers and Dealers, including preparing and following up on sales quotations and orders.
- Works with service and technical personnel to develop new ideas and innovations to meet ever-changing customer needs.
- Maintains and updates the SalesLogix database.
- Communicates and distributes required information to internal personnel, departments, and customers accurately, timely, and professionally by telephone, e-mail, and mail systems.
- Answers incoming calls regarding products; responds to questions and requests for information promptly; informs sales staff of new requests for information.
- Complies with OSHA/MSHA requirements regarding safety issues, use of safety equipment, material safety data sheets, etc.
- Maintains constant contact with customer service to ensure smooth execution of customer orders.
Education, Experience & Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One or more years of related sales/telesales experience is preferred.
